Fall Internship
The Committee on Global Thought is always looking for talented and motivated interns. Internships offer exposure to the study of globalization at an Ivy League university. Our interns work in an internationally influenced, intellectual environment. The office has a collegial, collaborative atmosphere. The internship is an excellent opportunity for a recent grad considering graduate school or work on global issues. We especially encourage applications from current Columbia students.
Duties
• Internet and library research on various global issues -right now, the global financial crisis
• Liaise with other departments and research centers on campus
• Assist in event planning, staffing and production (may include evening hours)
• Provide ongoing administrative support
• Help with file/data management
• Website and mailing list maintenance
• Production of web content
Skills
• Organized
• Punctual
• Creative
• Technologically savvy
• Excellent communications skills
• Interest in global and development issues
• Office experience
• Capable of working independently or as part of a team
• Foreign language skills a plus
• Social science background preferred
• College student or recent graduate preferred
Commitment
• Approximately 10-15 hours a week, at least one semester
