Senegalese-born director Musa Dieng Kala returns to Dakar, the city where he was raised, and asks a painful question: Has God Forsaken Africa? As he films five young adults seeking to immigrate to the West at any cost, the filmmaker unearths the impotence of individuals faced with international indifference and the unconcern of the leaders of a society emptied of its resources and incapable of meeting its needs. The film was recently awarded "Best Documentary" at the Panafrican Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou.
Following the screening, Mamadou Diouf will discuss the film with Kala.
This event is free and open to the public.
