In this chapter, Joseph Stiglitz explores the form and content of a post-Washington Consensus paradigm of development. He also discusses the role of actors such as international agencies, national governments and civil society in promoting development, as well as the ways in which new and appropriate strageties and policies might be conceived and implemented.
