Institute for Science, Ethics and Innovation
University of Manchester
Led by two pioneering thinkers, Nobel Prize-winning scientist Professor John Sulston and renowned bioethicist Professor John Harris, the Institute for Science, Ethics and Innovation was launched at The University of Manchester in July 2008. The mission of iSEI is to observe and analyze the role and moral responsibilities of science and innovation. The institute examines the ways in which science is used in the 21st century, evaluate possible or desirable changes, and consider the forms of regulation and control of the process that are appropriate or required. iSEI brings together researchers in ethics, law, philosophy, science and medicine to examine how the social and ethical consequences of science and technology can be managed in a way that protects people and makes their lives better. / Website
