Poverty and Inequality
The Subcommittee on Poverty and Inequality investigates aspects of economic globalization that have benefited parts of the world at the expense of, or without consideration for, other parts of the world. Recent decades have seen historically unprecedented economic growth around the world, yet the promises of progress and development have not been fulfilled for all people.
The program investigates global and national economic policy advances, discusses the role and need for foreign aid, as well as the disparate costs of climate change in the developing world. The Subcommittee believes that poverty reduction cannot be achieved unless equality of opportunity and access is ensured, and, therefore, recognized the need to create forward-thinking policy.
